Review of Netgear Nighthawk Router AC1900 - Best in Class Router

The last time I purchased a Netgear router was back in early 2015.   Since then, I've upgraded my
Netgear Nighthawk Router AC1900
modem to a Netgear DOCSIS 3.0 eBlast which allowed me to take advantage of Xfinity's 250MG downstream speeds.   Last week I noticed that my current Netgear router N750 was lagging then flat-lined completely leaving us to completely rely on our Verizon Data package which was pushed past capacity causing overage fees.

I checked CNET for router reviews and quickly narrowed it down the field to the Netgear AC1900 and the more expensive AC5300-AC5300 Nighthawk X8 Tri-Band WiFi Router.    After comparing the features, I quickly realized we didn't need the tri-band based on our usuage.   We're not gamers and we only have a max of 12 devices so I purchased the AC1900.

I've got to say this was one of the best OBE - Out of Box Experiences  I've had in a long time.    Setup and configuration was a breeze for this best-in-class consumer router.

The AC1900 takes advantage of all the downstream speed Xfinity puts out.   On a hardwire connection my main machine connects at 250MB+ download.   On wifi anywhere in the house we connect at 50MB+ downloads which is 10x faster than the older N750.
